HECTOR - Minnesota Valley Lutheran girl's basketball head coach Dave Biedenbender earned the 300th win of his career with a 66-42 win over Buffalo-Lake Hector-Stewart in Tomahawk Conference play.
Anna Munsen turned in a monster game for the Chargers with 20 points and 17 rebounds. Charlotte Pfingsten and Johanna Kettner added 16 and 10 points, respectively.
The Mustangs were led by Erika Zanoth with 14 points.
The Chargers (10-3, 6-2 Tomahawk) play on Friday at Springfield, while BLHS (1-9, 1-7) plays at home against Cedar Mountain/Comfrey on Thursday.
Redwood Valley 51, New Ulm 50
REDWOOD FALLS - Redwood Valley edged New Ulm in a nonconference girl's basketball game on Tuesday night.
Meleah Reinhart scored 12 points for New Ulm. Ellie Schneider had 11 points and Nikki Dittrich added 10 points.
Nicole Bunting led the Cardinals with 13 points and Makenzie Mace scored 11 points.
New Ulm (2-12, 1-5 South Central) will play at St. Peter on Thursday night in a South Central Conference matchup.
Wabasso 61, Cathedral 37
WABASSO - Wabasso defeated New Ulm Cathedral 61-37 in a girl's basketball Tomahawk Conference game on Tuesday night.
Chelsea Guetter led all scorers with 21 points for the Rabbits. Larissa Rollick had 14 points, and Morgan Frank added 10 points.
Lindsay Simon led the Greyhounds with 12 points.
Wabasso (13-0, 8-0) travels to play at Sleepy Eye on Friday, while Cathedral (7-5, 4-5) will play at Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop on Friday.
Nicollet 46, Madelia 38
NICOLLET - Nicollet edged Madelia 46-38 in a Valley Conference girl's basketball game on Tuesday night.
Natasha Young-Kruse led Nicollet with 15 points while Emily Skrien added 12 points.
Cinthia Sotelo led Madelia with 17 points and Danielle Arndt added 10 points.
Nicollet (3-8) will play on Friday at Mankato Loyola.
CM/C 49, GFW 45
MORGAN - Cedar Mountain/Comfrey defeated Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop 49-45 in a Tomahawk Conference girl's basketball game on Tuesday night.
Halley Busse led all scorers with 27 points in the losing effort for the Thunderbirds (4-8, 3-6 Tomahawk).
Courtney Nelsen led the Cougars (9-4, 6-4) with 14 points, while Paige Richert added 13 and seven rebounds. Brianna Lund contributed six points, eight rebounds and four blocks for the Cougars.
GFW will host New Ulm Cathedral on Friday, while CM/C will not return until Jan. 28 at Springfield.
Springfield 51, St. Mary's 50
SLEEPY EYE - Joeli Arnoldi hit the go-ahead basket with nine seconds remaining in the game to lift Springfield to a 51-50 victory against Tomahawk Conference opponent Sleepy Eye St. Mary's in girls' basketball action on Tuesday.
Arnoldi finished with 14 points and seven assists for the game.
Amy Davis, Taylor Milbrath, and Therese Roiger all had 10 points for the Tigers.
Nikki Carr and Larissa Helget scored 17 and 14 points, respectively.
Springfield (5-6, 4-4 Tomahawk) plays again at home on Friday against Minnesota Lutheran Valley, while St. Mary's (5-8, 3-6) will host Martin Luther on Thursday.
