Delpha Leola (Ebert) Sallstrom was born on June 26, 1928, in Gaylord, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Fred and Selma (Wille) Ebert. Delpha was baptized as an infant at St. John's Lutheran Church, Mountville, Dryden Township, Sibley County, Minnesota, and was later confirmed in her faith as a youth at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Gaylord. She attended Immanuel Lutheran Parochial School through 8th grade. After graduating from Gaylord High School she worked at the Sibley County Welfare office.

On June 17, 1950, Delpha was united in marriage to the love of her life John Sallstrom at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Gaylord. They farmed for many years in Cornish Township near Winthrop and that is where they raised their four children. When John retired from farming in 1993, they moved to the city of Winthrop. John passed away on April 24, 2000, only two months before their Golden Anniversary.

Delpha continued to work outside of the home and proudly retired from Hands, Inc. in Winthrop, at the age of 77.

During her life she enjoyed family time, playing bridge with her dear friends, entertaining, gardening, canning, reading, sewing and hardanger needlework. Delpha was an avid sports fan and loved watching the Twins and Gophers.

She was a loving woman devoted to her family, church and community. Her life lessons will be passed on for many generations and she will be missed by all who knew her. Blessed be her memory.
