MANKATO- The Minnesota Soybean Growers Association (MSGA) and Minnesota Corn Growers Association (MCGA) 2014 Ag EXPO opens at 8 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 8 (today) at the Verizon Wireless Center in downtown Mankato.
West Branch, Iowa farm co-owner and active partner, author, consultant and speaker Jolene Brown will discuss transition, estates and other issues needed to make a family business successful in the Spouse Program opener, 9:15 to 10:15 a.m. Wednesday in the Mankato City Center Hotel. A demonstration on the health, versatility and east of kitchen use by Liz Gunderson follows from 10:15 to 10:45 a.m.
The MSGA delegate session will be held from 9 to 10:30 a.m. followed by the MSGA annual meeting until 12:15 p.m. Lunch will be served from 12:30 to 2 p.m., followed by the MCGA delegate session until 3:30 p.m. The MCGA annual meeting follows from 3:45 to 5 p.m.
A trade show with 77 exhibitors will be open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday.
Panels will discuss "Embracing technology; tools for maintaining future profitability and stewardship" and "Tarred and feathered: Biofuels, the RFS (Renewable Fuel Standard) and where it's all heading" from 9 to 10 a.m.
Panels will discuss "Looking Beyond Minnesota: What role will Minnesota oilseed and grain producers play in international markets?" and "Environmental stewardship: Are Minnesota farmers making progress?" from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m.
