BOYS BASKETBALL: St. Mary’s boys win in overtime

St. Mary's 83, MVL 75, OT

NEW ULM - Sleepy Eye St. Mary's outscored Minnesota Valley Lutheran 18-10 in overtime and held on for a 83-75 Tomahawk Conference boy's basketball win on Friday.

John Brandl led the Knights with 26 points and Payton Adams scored 23.

Chad Lease finished with 34 points and 13 rebounds. Nick Dewanz had 13 points and 14 rebounds for the Chargers.

MVL (4-7, 3-2 Tomahawk) hosts Wabasso on Tuesday. St. Mary's is at Cedar Mountain/Comfrey on Tuesday.

BLHS 70, Wabasso 62

WABASSO - Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart defeated Wabasso 70-62 in Tomahawk Conference boy's basketball action on Friday night.

The Mustangs (4-5, 3-2 Tomahawk) were led by Tate Lange's game-high 32 points. Kyle Kubesh added 15 points and Josh Swanson had 10.

Neil Eichten led the Rabbits (6-4, 3-2) with 28 points - 15 of which came from 3-point land. Tanner Bock had 18 points as well.

BLHS will play at Springfield on Tuesday, while Wabasso will be at Minnesota Valley Lutheran.

CM/C 86, Sleepy Eye 55

MORGAN - Cedar Mountain/Comfrey defeated Sleepy Eye 86-55 in a Tomahawk Conference boy's basketball game on Friday.

Brady Kerkhoff and Chandler Rose each had a game-high 21 points. Rose also had 11 rebounds for the Cougars (4-6, 2-3 Tomahawk). Riley Kerkhoff had 11 points and 10 rebounds.

Sleepy Eye (3-7, 1-3) was led by Brandon Polesky's 20 ponts.

CM/C will play Lakeview on Saturday, while Sleepy Eye hosts New Ulm Cathedral on Tuesday.
