NU Police find 79-year-old man frozen to death

NEW ULM - Police dispatched for a welfare check reported finding a 79-year-old New Ulm man frozen to death Thursday night after he fell in his backyard at 720 1/2 North German Street earlier in the day.

William H. Lee was found unresponsive after falling and expiring as a result of the accident and weather conditions (18 Fahrenheit degrees below zero air temperature, excluding wind chill), according to a news release from New Ulm Police Senior Investigator Jeff Hohensee.

Brown County Coroner Terry Knowles released the body at the scene and listed the cause of death as accidental, according to the news release.
