Robert A. Poehler

Robert was born Feb. 21, 1948 to Albert and Tunie (Wilking) Poehler in Courtland. He attended Nicollet Public School and attained vocational education in North Mankato. Robert served his country in the United States Army during Vietnam. He was a lifelong member of Courtland Evangelical Lutheran Church. He made a home for his children and grandchildren at the Poehler family homestead and resided there until his untimely death. Robert held several jobs over his lifetime, ranging from farming to HVAC work. His most renowned occupation was as an old-fashioned sausage maker. Robert perfected his craft at Randall Foods in New Ulm and later on at Cash Wise Foods, until his retirement in 2004. Robert enjoyed the outdoor life and spent much of his time hunting, fishing, gardening and taking frequent trips to his lake cabin in northern Minnesota. Robert was a fix-it man at heart and found pleasure in listening to classic country western and polka music.

Robert was a devoted family man and friend. He dedicated his time here on earth to provide for, counsel and cherish every moment with his children and grandchildren. For those that knew him, he will be forever remembered as a kind-hearted, practical joker that put a smile on the faces of people around him.
