Hilarius “Larry” Sellner

SLEEPY EYE - Hilarius "Larry" Sellner, age 80, of Sleepy Eye died on Saturday, Dec. 7, 2013, at Sleepy Eye Medical Center.

Funeral Service will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Sleepy Eye, on Thursday, Dec. 12, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. The clergy will be Father Andy Michels. Interment will be at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, in Sleepy Eye.

Visitation will be on Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. and will continue on Thursday from 7:30 until 10 a.m. at the Sturm Funeral Home, Sleepy Eye. There will be a Parish Prayer Service at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Hilarius "Larry" Clement Sellner was born Jan. 7, 1933 in Stark Township, Brown County, to William and Cecilia (Mathiowetz) Sellner. He attended school in Stark Township. He was united in marriage to Gloria Grossmann on Sept. 4, 1956. Together they farmed in Stark Township until they retired and moved to Sleepy Eye in 2007. He enjoyed playing cards and games with friends and family. He spent many years playing baseball for Stark/LaSalle and coaching Stark Girls softball and was on the Stark Baseball Board. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sleepy Eye, Member of Catholic United Financial and the NFO.

Hilarius is survived his wife Gloria of Sleepy Eye; daughters and sons-in-law: Carol and Jeff Wendt of Eden Prairie, Shirley and Allen Stavedahl of West Fargo, N.D., Eileen Sellner of Sleepy Eye, Tracy and Brian Fitzgerald of Blaine; son and daughter-in-law: Martin and Kristine Sellner of Sleepy Eye; 10 grandchildren: Kristine and Michael Wendt; Scott and Stacy Stavedahl; Jessica, Andria and Holly Sellner; Madison, Tyler and Reilly Fitzgerald; sister, Cecilia Scherer and sister and brother-in-law, Marcella and Ray Hager of New Ulm. He was preceded in death by his parents; sons, Ronald and Albert Sellner; brothers, Wendelin and Benjamin Sellner; brother-in-law, Leo Scherer and sister-in-law, Grace Sellner.
