The holiday season gets a grand kickoff this Friday with the New Ulm Parade of Lights. The parade, at 6 p.m., heads down Minnesota Street and will feature dozens of units, all decked out with twinkling lights. Many businesses go to special lengths to make this a memorable parade, like the Citizens Bank Minnesota staff, seen at right, who come up with a special theme for their marching unit.
The parade is just part of the lineup of special activities in New Ulm to mark the start of the Christmas season. Check out the Christkindlmarkt at the New Ulm Event Center, and another Christkindlmarkt at the Legion Club in downtown New Ulm. There will be special events at the Brown County Historical Society Museum, which unveils its annual Menzel Christmas Village Display.
