A cat named Snowball checks out his new surroundings at Oak Hills Living Center in New Ulm on Tuesday. Snowball was found wandering around Jim and Karen Kretsch's place in rural New Ulm. The Kretsches took him in and gave him a home, but decided that they could not take him to Florida for the winter. After learning that Oak Hills Living Center was looking to replace George, a longtime feline resident who recently died, the Kretsches decided to donate the cat to the facility.
