NEW ULM - The Brown County Historical Society will hold its annual meeting on Thursday, Nov. 7, at Turner Hall in New Ulm.
The evening begins with a social at 6 p.m., followed by dinner at 6:30 p.m., a short business meeting and a program at 7:30 p.m. Cost is $15 per person and is payable in advance at the BCHS Museum, 2 N. Broadway, New Ulm, MN 56073. The deadline to pay and RSVP is Monday, Nov. 4.
Janet Timmerman, author of "Red Earth, White Road: The History of the LaFramboise Family" will be the guest speaker. She had been an employee of the History Center of Olmsted County for three-and-a-half years, including working as its executive director. She has recently started working as the director of the Murray County Museum and historic properties in Slayton and Currie. She has a B.A. in history and art from Southwest Minnesota State University in Marshall, and a master's in history from Kansas State University in Manhattan, Kansas.
