ST. GEORGE - Thomas Trautmiller, 73, of St. George died peacefully Saturday, Sept. 28, 2013 at his home after a three-year battle with cancer.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 2, 2013 at the St. George Catholic Church in St. George with Father Anthony Hesse celebrating the Mass. Burial will follow in the St. George Catholic Cemetery. Full Military Honors will be conducted at the cemetery by the New Ulm Area Comrades of Valor Honor Guard.

Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home, NORTH CHAPEL, in New Ulm and from 9-10 a.m. Wednesday at the church, with a rosary to be prayed at 10 a.m. There will be a parish prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Thomas is survived by his wife, Doris Trautmiller of St. George; daughters, Ann Iverson of New Ulm, Dawn (Brad) Becker of Spring Valley; sons, Daryl Trautmiller, Michael (Elizabeth) Trautmiller, both of St. George; grandchildren, Antony, Jake, Isaac and Sammy Becker, Avery and Silas Trautmiller, Megan, Hailey and Ben Trautmiller, Tom Polich; great-grandchild, Blayne Trautmiller; godchildren, Julie Kurth, Lisa Hoffman, Brenda Brunner; former son-in-law and wife, Wayne and Molly Luzius of Dallas, Texas; brother, Bill (Cathy) Trautmiller of New Ulm; and by sisters, Lois (Roger) Currier of Nicollet, Mary Jane (Robert) Kamm of Madelia, Ruth (Gene) Hancock of Earlsboro, Oklahoma, Carrol (Doyle) Halloway of Hindsville, Ark., Shirley (Jim) Kline of New Ulm.

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Sara Luzius in 2003; father-in-law and mother-in-law; sisters, Ann (Bill) Scheurer, Alice (Harold) Tassinari; brothers, George "Blinky" Trautmiller, Fritz (Vivian) Trautmiller; and by son-in-law, Bob Iverson.

Thomas H. Trautmiller was born on March 11, 1941 at home in New Ulm to George and Anna (Guldan) Trautmiller. He attended St. Paul's School in New Ulm and New Ulm High School. In 1958, Thomas went into the Navy, traveling around the world two and half times, until his honorary discharge in 1962. On June 6, 1963 Thomas was united in marriage to Doris Ranweiler at the St. George Catholic Church. Thomas was a hardworking man who was employed at many different jobs including Kraft for 35 years, the St. George Parish for 19 years, Espeland Van for five years and NAPA Auto Supply for five years. Thomas enjoyed being with his dog, Snoop, playing cards, fishing, riding motorcycle, bowling, listening to classic country music and bagpipes, and driving even when there was no destination. Thomas was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He was a member of the St. George Catholic Church. He will be dearly missed.
