PREP FOOTBALL: Top-ranked Blue Earth Area stomps New Ulm

BLUE?EARTH?- New Ulm fell to defending AAA champion Blue Earth Area 39-7 in a South Central Conference game on Friday night. The Buccaneers (4-0, 1-0 SCC)?are currently ranked No. 1 in class AAA.

The lone touchdown for the Eagles (0-5, 0-2) was scored by Jackson Yackley, who finished with 26 rushing yards off eight carries.

Matt Rowley also amassed more than 20 rushing yards, tallying 22 off six carries on the night.

On defense, Andrew Stewart notched 12 tackles and two sacks, while Trevor Mooter had eight tackles and one forced fumble.

The Eagles finish their regular-season road stint next week at St. James.

Minnesota Valley?Lutheran 36, Red Rock Central 16

LAMBERTON - Minnesota Valley Lutheran defeated Red Rock Central 36-16 in a nonconference football game on Friday.

MVL's Grant Wilson has 15 carries for 112 yards with two touchdowns. Nate Wong had 11 carries for 112 yards with one touchdown and Scott Kroells added 23 carries for 108 yards and one touchdown.

Chad Lease and Andrew Kassuelke each had a fumble recovery on defense.

Stats for Red Rock Central were unavailable.

MVL?(1-3) hosts Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart next Friday, while Red Rock Central (0-4) hosts Wabasso. Both games are scheduled to start at 7 p.m.

Bethlehem Academy 48, GFW 12

FARIBAULT - Bethlehem Academy defeated Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop 48-12 on Friday in a nonconference football game.

GFW's Jaden Katzenmeyer had 158 passing yards and one touchdown. Brett Van Massdam had four receptions for 48 yards and Tristan Schmidt added a rushing touchdown and four carries for 53 yards.

GFW (0-4, 0-2 Gopher Valley AA) will host Medford for its Homecoming game Friday.

Madelia 30, JWP 14

MADELIA - Madelia defeated Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton 30-14 in a Southern Confederacy Conference matchup Friday.

Madelia's Kyle Schultz had 18 carries for 137 yards. Schultz was 7-of-15 passing for 62 yards.

Madelia forced six turnovers in the second half to take over the game. Jake Denn and Riley Benzel each hauled in an interception. Madelia had 256 rushing yards and 62 passing yards.

JWP's Jordan Richardson had three passing touchdowns. Richardson had a pass to Ricky Johnson for 26 yards and one to Zach Hagen for five yards. JWP had 270 passing yards and only seven rushing yards.

Madelia (2-2, 2-2) will play at Alden-Conger on Friday.

No. 10 Martin County West 35, BLHS 13

SHERBURN - Martin County West defeated Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart 35-13 in a Southern?Minnesota Conference game on Friday.

Martin County West is ranked No. 10 in class AA.

The Mustangs' Jake Pettit threw for 187 yards and one touchdown. Tate Lange had 13 carries for 35 yards and Kyle Kubesh added six catches for 66 yards.

Tyler Schulte had four recptions for 61 yards and Lange added three receptions for 62 yards.

MCW's Parker Leiding had five carries for 30 yards and Sam baker added six carries for 53 yards. Baker had three receptions for 101 yards and Cordell Weber added two receptions for 96 yards.

BLHS drops to 1-3 and will play at Sleepy?Eye on Friday.
