COURTLAND - A four-year old girl was rushed to the hospital Saturday after suffering a dog bite to the neck at a rural residence located east of Courtland.
The incident occurred at 10:42 a.m. in the home. The girl, who had previously been around the animal, was petting it at the time of the attack. The seven-year old German Shepard/Australian Shepard mix has no prior incidents on record and is reported to be current on its vaccinations. No charges have been filed over the incident, and the dog is being quarantined at its owners'. Police believe the bite to be a freak incident for the animal.
