NEW?ULM - The Flying Dutchmen Motorcycle Club's 2013 Hill Climb event drew a sizable crowd Sunday at the organization's grounds near New Ulm.
Event officials said attendance was slightly down to approximately 500 people due to the humidity and heat, which hit a high of 92. However, it was still a strong turnout, they said.
The all-day event featured 239 entrants in 18 categories charging up the Dutchmen's 200-foot hill on various sizes of motorcycles. Contests that drew at lot of attention and boosted attendance were the relatively new women's classes, the super senior classes and the vintage class. The competition was part of the King of the Hill Championship series.
