August 20, 2013
The Journal

NEW ULM - The New Ulm City Council will meet at 5 p.m. today in the Council Chambers at City Hall.

The Council will consider a request to amend the purchase agreement between the City and Eagle Development. The change will push back the closing date from Sept. 1 to Dec. 1 to allow more time to work on the deal. Eagle Development is seeking the land for an apartment complex in the 100 block of South Minnesota Street.

The Council will review the 2013-2014 budget for the New Ulm Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB)?presented by New Ulm Area Chamber of Commerce President Audra Shaneman. The review was previously tabled because it lacked some information such as the cost of the ad campaign with Haberman Modern Storytellers.

The Council will consider authorizing the Park and Recreation Department to submit applications for grants to New Ulm Area Foundation and the Room to Run Nutro Pet Food Company on behalf of advocates of the new dog park to help fund a fence. The advocates have raised $6,000, and the applications are for $4,500 and $2,000 respectively.

Approval to purchase two 2014 Ford Explorers all-wheel drive vehicles from Chuck Spaeth Ford for the New Ulm Police Department. The vehicles will cost $54,966 total.

Southern Minnesota Initiative Foundation President Tim Penny will report on early childhood and entrepreneur programs available to the City.
