SPRINGFIELD - Springfield won a pair of Tomahawk East League amateur baseball games on Sunday.
In the first game, the Tigers defeated St. ?James 7-5.
Alex Fink, Matt Vogel, and Cooper Scheffler led the Springfield offense with two hits and two RBI each. Jacob Menage, Ryan Sturm, Christian Loomis, Marc Salazar, and Zach Bisel all added one hit apiece.
Anthony Stordalen, Craig Nelson, and Joe Hager all had two hits to lead the St. James attack.
Brandon Wilhelmi improved his record to 5-1 on the season with the win, working seven innings, allowing four runs, two earned, on 10 hits with eight strikeouts.
Hager went 7 1/3 innings, giving up six runs, four earned, on nine hits with four strikeouts.
In the second game, the Tigers defeated Redwood Falls 12-2 in seven innings.
Menage led the Tigers with two hits. Wilhelmi, Fink, Loomis, Matt Vogel, and Marc Salazar each had one hit in the contest.
Austin Kretsch led the Redbirds with two hits.
Loomis picked up his third win of the season, working six innings, giving up two runs, one earned, on five hits with four strikeouts.
Jordan Mann took the loss for Redwood Falls, going two innings, allowing three runs, two earned, on two hits with two strikeouts.
With the win, the Tigers improve to 12-5 in the Tomahawk East and 14-8 overall. Springfield plays at Lamberton at 8 p.m. Wednesday.
Kaiserhoff defeats Arlington
ARLINGTON - New Ulm Kaiserhoff defeated Arlington 8-3 Sunday night in amateur baseball action.
Jordan Schneider earned the win for New Ulm. He went six innings, allowing six hits and three runs. Dan Reinke was 2-for-3 and Schneider was 1-for-3 with two runs scored.
Kaiserhoff (4-7) hosts Lake Crystal at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Johnson Park.
