Cool, wet June in New Ulm

NEW ULM - The weather in New Ulm was colder and a lot wetter in June than it was a year ago.

The average high temperature for the month was 76.2, down over five degrees from the previous June, when the average was 81.3. The overall high was 87 on June 21, down from 98 on June 28.

The average low was 56.4, down from 56.9 the previous June. The overall low was 42 on June 3 and 4. Last year the overall low was 41 on June 2.

The biggest difference was in precipitation. Last year a total of 1.04 inches of rain fell in June. This year it totaled 6.55 inches. That brings the total for the year up to 18.59 inches, down slightly from the 20.93 inches accumulating last year.
