NEW ULM - During a combined study session/regular meeting Thursday, the District 88 Board of Education will consider a resolution to explore a joint scheduling plan and agreement for extra-curricular and co-curricular activities with schools in the Southwest Conference and South Central Conference.
The merger, which would take effect in 2014-15, is intended to ensure stable and predictable scheduling and provide a competitive environment by promoting opportunities, cost efficiency and equitable competition options, according to a draft of the resolution.
The board will also consider approval of a contract with Brown County for providing nursing services to non-public schools. The contract is worth a combined $54,133. These funds flow through the public school system.
In addition, the board will consider liability and workers compensation insurance bids, extended year contracts and contracts for summer custodial help.
In the study session portion of the meeting, the board will discuss activity department changes for next year and beyond, a proposed draft of next year's budget, and a teacher evaluation pilot report.
The board meets at 5 p.m. at the District Administrative Center.
