NEW ULM - Minnesota Valley Lutheran High School graduated 60 students on Sunday afternoon.
The theme for this year's commencement service was "The Lord says...Fear Not."
The Rev. Michael Otterstatter, who is father of graduate Michaela Otterstatter, gave the theme speech by jokingly chiding the graduating class about their texting habits. He said God is attempting to send them a text about the Gospel's good message.

Minnesota Valley Lutheran seniors gathered in preparation for Sunday’s graduation ceremony at the school.
Abigail Koelpin, the first class speaker, told her fellow graduates that they had been blessed to have attended the school. She said that God had helped them guide them in making memories and strengthening their faith.
Shelby Smith, the second class speaker, said the students had learned a lot about themselves while getting their education at MVL. She said this knowledge would help them as they step into the next stage of their lives.
"God has more planned for us than we can even imagine," said Smith.
