Monday's weather made for good conditions for farmers to be out in their fields like this farmer planting near the intersection of Highways 14 and 71 near Springfield. According to the weekly crops and weather report for Minnesota, the U.S. Department of Agriculture says there were 3.6 days rated suitable for fieldwork last week, compared to 1.3 days the previous week. Corn is 18 percent planted, well behind both 2012's 86 percent and the average of 68 percent.
