BUFFALO LAKE - Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart's Carly Schmalz and Springfield's Christopher Kretsch were the leaders after the first round of the Tomahawk Conference golf meet at Oakdale Country Club.
Schmalz shot an 82, 10 strokes better than Sleepy Eye's Karrah Remus. Sleepy Eye's Emily Curtis (93), Lauren Laffen?(93), Springfield's Callie Wersal (95), BLHS's Mikayla Paulson (97), New Ulm Cathedral's Courtney Berg (96), Cathedral's Brooke Dummer (99), Cedar Mountain's Courtney Nelsen (100) and Springfield's Shelby Schultz (100).
The Sleepy Eye girls led the way with a team score of 389, followed by BLHS (393), Springfield?(419), Cathedral (423), Wabasso (430), Minnesota Valley Lutheran (455), Sleepy Eye St. Mary's (467), Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop (468) and Cedar Mountain (Incomplete).
On the boy's side, Kretsch leads the way with an 80, followed by St. Mary's Kansas Adams (83), BLHS's Jon Burgstahler (84) and Jack Broderius (84), Springfield's Taylor Frank (84), CM's 85, Springfield's Andy Salonek (88), St. Mary's Ryan Heinrichs (89), Sleepy Eye's Tyler Netzke (89) and CM's Zac Kerkhoff (90).
Springfield leads the way with a 350, followed by BLHS (354), CM (388), St. Mary's (368), Sleepy Eye (380), Wabasso (415), GFW (427), MVL (461) and Cathedral (488).
The next Tomahawk meet will be Tuesday in New Ulm.
