Two troopers receive Life Saving Award

ST. PAUL - Two regional Minnesota troopers were among the honorees Monday at the Minnesota State Patrol's annual Life Saving Awards ceremony in St. Paul. The award focuses on troopers whose actions prevented a death.

Trooper Dan Anderson and Deputy Jared Thelemann, responded to a physical domestic incident in progress in rural Nicollet County. Anderson arrived at the scene as a male suspect was stabbing a female victim. The two officers detained the suspect and stabilized the victim, which saved her life.

Trooper Chris Fredrickson located a driver with a medical condition reported missing in New Ulm. It was later determined the driver had severe bleeding in his brain and would have likely died if not found by Fredrickson.
