Variety of guests, events to be featured at Menards grand opening

NEW ULM - Menards has a variety of guests, events and deals planned for its "official" grand opening on Sunday, March 24.

The celebration will last throughout the following week with sales and prize drawings offered each day.

Beginning Sunday, John Gage will demonstrate chainsaw carvings outside the store and continue until Wednesday, March 27. His carvings will be available for purchase.

Minnesota Hockey player Neal Broten will make an appearance Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. He will sign free autographs.

Race vehicles will be on display next Monday and Tuesday from noon to 8 p.m. Paul Menard's 2011 Indy Brickyard No. 27 car and Matt Crafton's No. 88 truck will be displayed.

On Wednesday, March 27, Minnesota Vikings placekicker Blair Walsh make an appearance from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. He will be signing free autographs.

On Thursday, March 28, former Minnesota Twins pitcher Brad Radke will make an appearance from 6 to 8 p.m.

The Sasquatch mascot character from the Jack Link's commercials will make an appearance on Friday, March 29 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Menards is currently open for business 6:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Monday through Saturdays and from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Sundays.
