Tigers hold off Rabbits

Springfield 72, Wabasso 62

WABASSO - Springfield defeated Wabasso Tuesday night in a Tomahawk Conference boys basketball game.

Neil Eichten scored 26 points to lead Wabasso. Seth Guetter added 13 points for the Rabbits.

Cooper Scheffler, Cole Milbrath and Isaac Kirschstein scored 16 points each for the Tigers.

Wabasso (8-14, 5-9) hosts Cedar Mountain/Comfrey Friday night.

Springfield (15-6, 10-4) hosts St. Clair Tuesday night.

Sleepy Eye 48, GFW 40

SLEEPY EYE - Sleepy Eye defeated Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop Tuesday night in a boys basketball Tomahawk Conference game.

Jake Trebesch scored 12 points, grabbed nine rebounds and blocked five shots for Sleepy Eye. Brandon Polesky had 12 points, six rebounds and six assists for the Indians.

Jack Bussler led the Thunderbirds with 14 points and Brett Van Maasdam added 10 points.

Sleepy Eye (8-13, 5-9) travels to Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart (10-8, 7-7) Friday night.

GFW (7-13, 5-9) hosts Sleepy Eye St. Mary's (16-3, 11-2) Friday night.

CM/C 85, MVL 64

MORGAN - Cedar Mountain/Comfrey defeated Minnesota Valley Lutheran Tuesday night in a Tomahawk Conference boys basketball game.

Sam Pendleton led CM/C by scoring 20 points. Zach Kerkhoff scored 12 points, Henry Pendleton scored 11 points and Brady Kerkhoff and Javin Larsen each scored 10 points.

Kris Goetzke led MVL with 16 points, while Justin Bruns scored 14 points and Nick Dewanz scored 10 points.

CM/C (15-4, 12-2) plays at Wabasso Friday night in a Tomahawk Conference game.

MVL (4-17, 4-9) plays at New Ulm Cathedral (3-15, 2-11) Friday night.

MLA 65, RRC 54

LAMBERTON - Mountain Lake Area outscored Red Rock Central 14-2 in the final seven minutes of the game Tuesday night to remain perfect in the Red Rock Conference in boys basketball.

RRC held a 37-34 lead at halftime and was up 52-51 with 7:00 remaining.

Henry Rogotzke led RRC with 23 points and 14 rebounds, while Jeff DeCock had 16 points and six rebounds.

Carter Kirk was the leading scorer for Mountain Lake Area with 21 points.

RRC falls to 11-9 overall and 7-6 in the conference and will host Renville County West on Saturday. Mountain Lake Area improves to 18-3 and 12-0 in the conference and will play at Southwest Minnesota Christian (19-1, 12-0) on Friday.

BLHS 56, BOLD 54

HECTOR - Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart held off BOLD in nonconference boys basketball Tuesday night.

Mason Clark and Kyle Kubesh each led the Mustangs with 15 points. Ryan Coulter scored 10 for the Mustangs.

Tyler Rock led BOLD with 20 points.

BLHS is at Lester Prairie/Holy Trinity on Thursday.
