Renville - A 60-year-old man died from injuries after being run over by a payloader at the Southern Minnesota Beet Sugar Cooperative, approximately two miles east of Renville, at about 2:50 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 31, 2013, the Renville County Sheriff's Office reported.
The Renville Ambulance Service and Renville County Sheriff's Office responded to the scene. At the time of the accident visibility was poor due to wind blowing beet pulp around the plant.
The name of the victim is being withheld to allow for notification of his family.
Further investigation into the accident will be conducted by the Renville County Sheriff's Office and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).
