Tigers hand Cougars first conference loss

Springfield 82, CM/C 79

MORGAN - Springfield edged Cedar Mountain/Comfrey in Tomahawk Conference boys basketball action Tuesday night. It was CM/C's first loss in conference play.

Cole Milbrath led the Tigers with 24 points and Isaac Kirschstein finished with 19 points.

Sam Pendleton led the Cougars with 33 points and Brady Kerkhoff finished with 21 points.

CM/C (11-3, 10-1) plays Sleepy Eye in Comfrey on Monday and the Tigers (12-5, 7-3) are at New Ulm Cathedral on Friday.

St. Mary's 92,

Sleepy Eye 60

SLEEPY EYE - Three players scored in double figures to lead Sleepy Eye St. Mary's past Sleepy Eye Tuesday night in a Tomahawk Conference boys basketball game.

Kansas Adams scored 19 points while Jordan Anderson and Mike Hirsch each scored 16 points for the Knights.

Brandon Polesky scored 18 points and Tyler Netzke scored 12 points for the Indians.

St. Mary's (12-3, 9-2) hosts Wabasso Thursday night. Sleepy Eye (5-10, 3-7) hosts Truman/Martin Luther Thursday night.

RRC 77, Edgerton 58

LAMBERTON - The Red Rock Central boys basketball team used an 18-point halftime lead to help defeat Red Rock Conference opponent Edgerton on Tuesday night.

Henry Rogotzke had a big night for Red Rock Central with 28 points. Jeff DeCock added 14 points and 13 assists in the victory. Tyler Halland also notched a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds.

RRC improves to 9-6 (6-3) and will play at Southwest Minnesota Christian on Friday.

Mt. Lake Area 64, MCC 40

MOUNTAIN LAKE - Mountain Lake Area defeated Red Rock Conference opponent Murray County Central on Tuesday evening.

Carter Kirk led the way for MLA with 17 points and 13 rebounds. Josiah Stoesz joined Kirk in double figures with 14 points for the Wolverines.

Mountain Lake Area improves to 15-2 with the victory and will travel to play Ellsworth on Friday.

Cathedral 52, BLHS 40

HECTOR - The New Ulm Cathedral boys basketball picked up a Tomahawk Conference road win on Tuesday night by defeating Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart.

Jake Stadick led the Greyhounds with 15 points and seven rebounds. Jeff Osbourne added 12 points and nine rebounds for Cathedral.

Tyler Pagenkopf led BLHS with nine points, while Sam Nelson chipped in with eight.

Cathedral improves to 2-12 overall and will host Springfield on Friday. BLHS drops to 8-7 overall and will host Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop on Friday.
