COURTLAND - Courtland firefighters were called to the Dan and Sandy Meyer residence on 430th Street at 6:27 a.m. Friday to extinguish a house fire.
Damage was confined to an upstairs bedroom and storage room. There was smoke damage to other upstairs parts of the home, according to Courtland Fire Chief Dave Ubel. Courtland and Lafayette Fire Departments each sent three trucks to the fire.
Courtland firefighters spent more than four hours at the scene, Ubel said.
"Lafayette and Courtland Fire Departments did an excellent job for us. We cannot thank them enough," Sandy Meyer said.
