MANKATO - The New Ulm gymnastics team capped a strong showing at the Mankato Invitational on Saturday with a third-place finish in the six-team competition.
Minnetonka took top honors at the meet with a team total of 134.075. Mankato West followed in second with a score of 130.775 and New Ulm compiled a team score of 128.9.
St. Peter was fourth with 113.45, Mankato East finished fifth with 109.025 and Marshall was sixth with a score of 103.35.
New Ulm finished first in the Junior Varsity competition, earning a team score of 115.05. Minnetonka was second with 107.875.
The Eagles will return to action on Tuesday when they hit the road to take on Worthington. The meet is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m.
