Rosella Hillesheim died on Tuesday, December 4, 2012 at Country Side Apartments in Sleepy Eye at the age of 90 years.
Visitation will be on Thursday, December 6, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Sturm Funeral Home in Sleepy Eye. Visitation will continue on Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. at the Sturm Funeral Home in Sleepy Eye. There will be a Parish Prayer Service on Thursday at 7 p.m. at the Sturm Funeral Home in Sleepy Eye.
Mass of Christian Burial will be on Friday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sleepy Eye. Burial will be at the Church of the Japanese Martyrs Cemetery in Leavenworth. There will be a family reception and lunch at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sleepy Eye following the burial.

Rosella Theresa Hillesheim was born on September 20, 1922 in Brown County, the daughter of Frank and Theresa (Seidl) Schroepfer. She was united in marriage to Edmund Hillesheim on June 8, 1942 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sleepy Eye. Following his death, she married James Hillesheim on November 21, 1950 at the Church of the Japanese Martyrs in Leavenworth. The couple resided and worked on the farm with his father. Rosella and James moved to Sleepy Eye upon retirement in the fall of 1986. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sleepy Eye and was involved with CCW, Parish Council, TECH, and Schoenstatt Covenant of Love was a Renew Leader and a Eucharistic Minister and a member of CUF. Rosella enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening, sewing, baking, cooking and playing cards. She loved to pray and be with people.
She is survived by her children, Bernetta (Ronald A.) Helget of Comfrey, Carol (Pat) Wurtzberger of Sleepy Eye, Diane (Elroy "Si") Seifert of Paynesville, Beverly (Stephen) Soukup of New Ulm, James (Cindy) Hillesheim of Springfield, John (Lorraine) Hillesheim of Sleepy Eye, and Christina (Christopher) Hopp of Elkader, IA; 22 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren; and a brother, Sylvester (Pearl) Schroepfer of Sleepy Eye.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Edmund and James; brothers, Clement, Felix, Edward, Raymond, Florian, Walter, Albert, and Jerome; and sisters, Lorraine Weiss, and Agnes Tauer.
