NEW ULM - The New Ulm City Council approved a 2.4 percent general wage increase for non-union, full-time City employees and the City Attorney's Office fees for 2013 on Tuesday at City Hall.
Non-union employees had a wage increase last budget, but they went without raises for the three prior years due to budget constraints.
The Council also set a Public Hearing for the establishment of a tax abatement program for Frontier Labs to build a new agriculture laboratory at 6 Somsen St. on Tuesday, Dec. 18 at City Hall.
The proposed tax abatement program is being sought to finance improvements to a facility at the proposed site. The City would provide $4,114 in tax cuts annually and Brown County would provide $2,654 in tax cuts annually with the program. The program would also carry a Development Agreement to establish a yet-to-be-determined number of new jobs.
