It takes a village to create an elaborate holiday display

November 26, 2012
The Journal

NEW?ULM - The Menzel Village Christmas Display opened to the public last week at the museum of the Brown County Historical Society. The collection originally belonged to Louise (Fritsche) and Walter Menzel, a New Ulm couple who started collecting pieces for the display in 1937. As the village grew, neighborhood children received invitations to see the increasingly elaborate display.
