Knights, Indians suffer losses in St. Mary’s Fall Invitational

CHF 62, Sleepy Eye 54

SLEEPY?EYE - Zoe Piepkorn led Christ's Household of Faith to victory against Sleepy Eye in the opening game of the St. Mary's Fall Invitational girls' basketball tournament Friday.

Piepkorn led the Lions with 28 points. Teammate Kathleen Piepkorn added 13 points.

Claire Krumbach paced the Indians with 19 points, 13 rebounds, four steals and four assists. Josie Schieffert added 18 points and 12 rebounds and Justine Gonzalez contributed 13 points and four steals.

Sleepy Eye will continue tournament play today against Jackson County Central, with the game scheduled to start at approximately 4 p.m.

JCC 70, St. Mary's 62

SLEEPY?EYE - Rachel Johnson scored 17 points to lead Jackson County Central past Sleepy Eye St. Mary's on Friday at the St. Mary's Fall Invitational girls' basketball tournament.

Marita Rasche and Lydia Brandt added 15 points apiece for the Huskies.

St. Mary's was led by Maddy Helget (19 points), Devyn Meyer (12 points) and Jenna Hose (nine points, eight rebounds).

The tournament will wrap up today. St. Mary's will play Christ's Household of Faith today at 2 p.m. and JCC will play against Sleepy Eye immediately following.
