SLEEPY EYE - The Minnesota State Patrol has identified the person killed in a two-car crash near Sleepy Eye this morning as Karen Branch, 53, of New Ulm.
The accident occured on Highway 14 east of Sleepy Eye at about 6:05 a.m. today, according to the State Patrol.
Branch was driving a 2001 GMC pickup that was westbound. The other vehicle involved was a 2001 Ford Econoline van driven by Roddy J. Verschelde, 52, of North Mankato, who was eastbound on Higwhay. The collision occurred in eastbound lane near Brown County 250th Street.
Verschelde suffered non-life threatening injuries, according to the State Patrol.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
The accident blocked both lanes of Highway 14 until about noon.
