To the editor:
God calls out to Adam and Eve in the garden, after they had eaten of the forbidden fruit, "Where are you?" (Genesis 3:9). We need to ask ourselves that very question, "Where are we?" and "Where are we going?"
Some nations have killed tens of thousands of their own people, and we, the United States, have killed over 50 million of our own people since 1973. How ironic that we claim to be the leader of the free world!
We need to reassess our morals in this country. Like the lyrics of a well-known song tells us, "Let there be Peace on Earth, and let it Begin with Me." We need to strengthen our family life fundamentally. Strong family values is the basis on which to build a strong country.
To the contrary in our world today, we have fighting, shootings and killings within families. President Obama is weakening the family by implementing handouts and more government control programs. This is an insult to our intelligence. He is leading our nation into a global socialistic state of chaos. This kind of "government control" is what our ancestors fled from, to come to "free America" in the first place.
In 2008 this country invested their faith in Barack Obama, but he failed miserably, as his record shows. The $16 trillion debt alone will burden our propel for generations to come.
The unveiling of Obamacare in 2013 will impose many surprise taxes and limit health care coverage, especially for senior citizens, as government makes decisions versus patient and doctor. Obamacare robs us of our "religious freedom" dictating we pay for birth control devises and fund abortions.
In regard to the Marriage Amendment, we refer to the Bible (Genesis 2:18-25). God took out one of Adam's ribs and created "woman" for Adam as his partner, and Adam was well pleased. (God did not clone a male mate for Adam.) God created man and woman to become one and to increase and multiply and replenish the earth. Our nation is based on Christianity, therefore, we cannot exclude God from this equation. Please vote "Yes" on the Marriage Amendment.
In the second debate. Governor Romney defined himself in these terms. Love of God, Family and Country. That speaks volumes!
We hold the fate of our future when we step into the voting booth on Nov. 6. Please consider reviving our country by your vote for Governor Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan, for President and Vice President of the United States, plus pro-life candidates, Bills, Quist, Dahms and Torkelson, also pro-life Judges, Dan Griffith, Barry Andersen and Tim Tingelstad.
Like Jesus made the blind man Bartimaeus to see, (Mark 10: 46-52), let us also ask God to open our eyes and mind and soul to choose the right path to preserve our country's Constitution. We pray this great land will always be "one nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all."
