NEW ULM - Irene Isackson, 102, of New Ulm, died Monday, October 22, 2012, at the Oak Hills Living Center in New Ulm.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m., Saturday, October 27, at the St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in New Ulm with Pastor Timothy Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery in New Ulm.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the time of service at church on Saturday.
The Minnesota Valley Funeral Home, NORTH CHAPEL, in New Ulm is handling the arrangements.

Irene is survived by her daughters and son-in-law, Lucille Schroeder of St. Peter, Carla and Mike Postel of New Ulm; sons and daughters-in-law, Will Isackson of Grand Rapids, Lyle and Gerri Isackson, Ed and Judy Isackson, all of New Ulm; 19 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and 8 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Roy Isackson; infant son and daughter; granddaughter, Susan; one sister; four brothers, and her daughter-in-law, Rita Isackson.
Irene Marie Pagenkopf was born Jan. 13, 1910 in Bismarck Township, Sibley County, to John and Adelia (Buboltz) Pagenkopf. She was united in marriage to Roy Isackson on October 15, 1929 in Gaylord. After marriage they farmed in Bernadotte Township, Nicollet County. They moved to New Ulm where she worked as a homemaker, mother and was also employed at Tony Downs in Madelia.
Irene enjoyed playing bingo, crocheting and crafts. She was a member of the St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in New Ulm.
