The drought-shrunken Cottonwood River flows under Cottonwood Street bridge near Adams Park Saturday. The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR) urges water conservation measures to preserve what water there is in Minnesota. The U.S. Drought Monitor lists southwest and south central Minnesota in an extreme drought with dryness rivaling conditions in 1988 and 1989.
