MINNEAPOLIS - A late goal by Bethany Schultz pushed the Martin Luther College women's soccer team to a 1-0 win at North Central on Friday.
Schultz broke a scoreless tie in the 80th minute, scoring her sixth goal of the season to give the Knights the only tally of the game.
MLC dominated on the stat sheet, outshooting the Rams 23-5 overall and 16-3 on goal. Schultz led the team with eight total shots, five of which were on net. Lauren Maertz and Hannah Mattek had five and four shots, respectively.
Defensively, the Knights held the Rams to only one shot in the first half. Keely Keese saved all three shots she faced to record her first shutout of the season.
MLC (5-10 overall, 4-7 in Upper Midwest Athletic Conference play) will return to action today when it travels to Northwestern for a 2:30 p.m. game.
