WINTHROP - The Minnesota Valley Lutheran girls cross country team placed four runners on the Tomahawk Conference All-Conference team at the conference meet on Tuesday.
The Chargers also placed first at the meet with 21 points.
Sleepy Eye St. Mary's/Sleepy Eye/New Ulm Cathedral's Kari Schumacher won in 16:44 and Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop's Larissa Halstead was third in 17:18. It was the third straight year that Schumacher claimed the conference title. GFW's Ruthie Rider finished sixth in 17:43.

Leading the way for the MVL girls was Talia Otto, who was second in 16:50. Alexa Dierson (fifth, 17:26), Cheyenne Bjorklund (sixth, 17:31), Brianna Holtmeier (seventh, 18:13) and Maria Muske (eighth, 18:30) led the way for the Chargers.
Otto, Dierson, Bjorklund and Holtmeier were named all-conference along with Schumacher, Halstead and Rider. GFW was second as a team with 34 points.
On the boys side, Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop's Tyler Dummer won in 17:41 and teammate Brandon Albrecht was second in 17:58. MVL's Peter Finken finished third in 18:08, Springfield/Cedar Mountain's Isaac Kirchstein was fourth in 18:19 and SM/SE/NUC's Stephen Joyce was fifth in 18:24. SM/SE/NUC's Nick DeMaris was sixth in 18:29 and GFW's Tyler Sassenberg was seventh in 18:31. The top seven finishers were named all-conference.
GFW won the boys meet with 26 points and S/CM was second with 43 points. SM/SE/NUC was third with 51 points.
