PREP VOLLEYBALL ROUNDUP: New Ulm stops Saints

ST. JAMES - New Ulm swept St. James 25-23, 25-21, 25-14 in a South Central Conference volleyball match on Tuesday.

Alley Grejtak led the Eagles with eight kills and seven digs. Bree Friedman also had seven digs.

Katie Forst and Ellie Schneider had seven and six kills, respectively, for the Eagles, while they each recorded two blocks to lead the team.

New Ulm (2-19, 2-8) plays at the Sartell Tournament on Thursday.

BLHS 3, LPHT 0

HECTOR-Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart swept Lester Prairie-Holy Trinity 25-23, 25-17, 25-20 Tuesday night in prep volleyball action.

Ashley Tintes led the Mustangs with 16-for-17 serving with 17 set assists and three digs. Hannah VanderVoort was 15-for-15 serving with three aces and five digs. Carley Klabunde was 11-for-11 serving with three aces. Mikayla Paulson had 12 kills.

BLHS (9-13-1) will compete at the Underwood Tournament Thursday.

Nicollet 3 , MLGHEC 0

NORTHROP - Nicollet swept Martin Luther/Granada-Huntley-East Chain 25-20, 25-20, 25-19 in a Valley Conference volleyball matchup on Tuesday.

Katelyn Skrien led the Raider attack with 13 kills, and Carissa Woller had 11 kills of her own.

Courtney Struss had 31 digs to lead the Raiders, while Woller added 16 digs. Sara Meurer had 28 set assists on the night.

Nicollet (8-15, 5-5) begins Section 2A playoff action next week.
