NEW?ULM - Marion Traurig, 89, of New Ulm, died peacefully at Grand Arbor in Alexandria Minnesota on Sunday, October 15, 2012.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m., Thursday, October 18 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in New Ulm with Pastor James Snyder officiating. Burial will follow in the New Ulm City Cemetery.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the time of service at church on Thursday.

Marion is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Pamela and Judd Rietkerk of Edina,MN, Patricia and Jeff Bjordahl of New Smyrna Beach, FL, Tya Schrader of New Ulm, Kristine Durel of Slidell, LA; a son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Peggy Weise of Brandon, MN; 14 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Dennis; sisters, Beverly Pettersen, Joyce Aufderheide; and by her brother, Malcolm Stephenson.

Marion Beth Stephenson was born January 14, 1923 in Lake Wilson to Melvin and Clara (Kluge) Stephenson. She was a 1941 graduate of New Ulm High School. Marion was united in marriage to Dennis Traurig in 1970 in New Ulm. She was a homemaker and a seamstress, and then she was employed as the secretary at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in New Ulm.
