Mustangs sweep Sleepy Eye in Tomahawk match

BLHS 3, Sleepy Eye 0

STEWART - The Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart Mustangs swept Sleepy Eye 25-19, 25-17, 25-21 Thursday night in Tomahawk Conference prep volleyball action.

Maddie Ludowese led the Mustangs with 17-for-19 serving with seven aces. She also had three kills. Ashley Tintes was 11-for-11 serving with one ace and nine kills.

For Sleepy Eye, Claire Krumbach had six kills and two blocks and Miranda McMullen had seven set assists and two digs.

BLHS (8-13-1) will host Lester Prairie/Holy Trinity Tuesday night. The Indians (4-15-1) will host New Ulm Cathedral Monday night.

St. Peter 3, New Ulm 0

ST. PETER - St. Peter swept New Ulm 25-13, 25-22 and 25-18 Tuesday night in South Central Conference prep volleyball action.

Sydney Schuck led the Eagles by serving 9-for-10 with two aces. Katie Forst had seven kills, two blocks and eight digs. Bree Friedman had 22 set assists, and Courtney Lang had six kills and two blocks.

The Eagles (1-19, 1-8) travel to St. James Tuesday.

Jordan 3, Sibley East 1

GAYLORD - The Sibley East volleyball team fell in a Minnesota River Conference match against Jordan by a score of 23-25, 25-13, 25-14, 25-22.

Jordan Thomes had four kills and 10 digs for Sibley East, which also got 13 digs from Shelby Voight. Karley Lind led the way with 13 set assists and Kelli Martens added four kills and nine set assists.

Sibley East falls to 7-17-1 (0-6) and will play its regular-season finale Monday against Watertown-Mayer, in Gaylord.

Cathedral 3, CMC 1

MORGAN - The New Ulm Cathedral volleyball team defeated host Cedar Mountain/Comfrey in a Tomahawk Conference match by a score of 25-17, 26-24, 23-25, 25-21.

Lisa Helget led the way for Cathedral with 16 kills and 12 digs. Kristin Moore added 15 kills and 18 digs, while Karlee Pfaff pitched in 10 kills and 10 digs. Paige Pautzke had a huge night with 49 set assists for Cathedral.

Allison Madsen had 39 set assists and two aces for CMC in the loss, while Briana Lund led the team with 11 kills. Andrea Ochs had 15 digs, while Emily Ochs had 11 digs and nine kills. Karliana Kelly had five blocks to lead CMC.

Cathedral (11-11) will return to action Monday as it heads to Sleepy Eye, while CMC (1-15) will take part in the Subway Classic this weekend in Marshall.

Mankato Loyola 3,

Nicollet 1

MANKATO-Mankato Loyola defeated Nicollet 25-23, 25-23, 24-26, 25-20 Tuesday night in Valley Conference prep volleyball action.

Carissa Woller led the Raiders with 15-for-17 serving, one ace, 23 digs, nine kills and nine blocks. Courtney Struss was 17-for-17 serving with one ace and 33 kills.

Nicollet travels to Janesville to play Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton Monday night.
