MINNEAPOLIS - Helen Anderson, 84, of Minneapolis died Monday, Oct. 1, 2012 at Oak Hills Living Center in New Ulm.
Private family services will be held at the Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis.

Helen is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Cheryl and Steve Hartman of Elk River, Karen and Chuck Albrecht of New Ulm; son and daughter-in-law, Lee and Dee Anderson of Owatonna; grandchildren, Joshua (Emily) Anderson, Lisa (Jim) Hoefs, Shawn (Christina) Hartman, Luke (Emily) Albrecht, Joanna Anderson, Sara (Steve) Skadsem, Jacob Albrecht; great grandchildren, Jordan, Brenna and Maren Skadsem, Alexis, Caleigh and Madelyn Hoefs, Ella and Ruby Anderson, Henry, Edith and Stella Albrecht; sisters and brothers-in-law, Eleanor Jandl of Crystal, Janet and Jim Zastrow of New Brighton, Audrey and Harry Corneliusen of Maple Grove; brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert "Bob" and Pauline Petersen of Wisconsin, Bruce and Judy Petersen of Mounds View; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert W. "Bob" Anderson on May 21, 2010; sister and brother-in-law, Betty and Jack Hoag; infant brother, Billy; and a sister-in-law, Blanche Petersen.
Helen Maurine Petersen was born on June 6, 1928 in Clay County, North Dakota to Arnold and Maude (Briggs) Petersen. On June 25, 1949 she was united in marriage to Robert William Anderson in Minneapolis. She worked for 24 years as a personnel clerk at Salkin and Linoff in Minneapolis. We will always remember Helen's beautiful smile, friendly laughter and comforting words. She was always there to listen and offer consolation or advice if asked for. She loved being around others, especially her family. We will truly miss her.
