Chuck is survived by three brothers and eight sisters, Jerry (Rosie) Cordes of New Ulm, Jeff Cordes (special friend Janet) of Delano, Ray (Nancy) Cordes of Buffalo, Judy Novak of Stillwater, Linda (Pat) Flaherty of Fairbanks, Alaska, Rosie Kral of Sleepy Eye, Lorie (Jim) Schaefer of New Ulm, Karen Cordes of Hanska, Sue (Chuck) Domeier of Hanska, Patty Cordes of Hanska, Jane Dicken of Stillwater; and by 26 nieces and nephews and 28 great-nieces and great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and by an infant brother, Paul Cordes.

Charles Herman Cordes was born Feb. 1, 1956 in New Ulm to Eldor and Johanna (Ubl) Cordes. He made his home in Stillwater after graduating from Cathedral High School and then Southwest State University with a studio Art degree. A trip to China, with his wheelchair basketball team, influenced his unique artistic style. His joys in life were many, he loved the outdoors and whenever possible he would go camping and fishing. Chuck especially looked forward to family gatherings involving music and dancing which ended around his sisters' bon fires. Holidays never passed without a competitive game of some sort around the family table. Chuck's smile and laughter will be forever missed. A kind soul has left us to walk with angels.
