GIBBON - Virgil Bregel, 76, of Gibbon, died Monday, Oct. 1, 2012 at the New Ulm Medical Center.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 5, 2012 at St. Willibrord's Catholic Church in Gibbon with Father John Berger celebrating the Mass. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Virgil is survived by his wife, Beverly Bregel of Gibbon; daughter, Theresa Bregel of Gibbon; sons, Eric Bregel and Paul Bregel both of Gibbon, and Mark Bregel and special friend Anna of New Ulm; and his favorite dog, Eddie. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Virgil Bernard Bregel was born on May 28, 1936 in New Ulm to Bernard and Johanna (Berger) Bregel. On Oct. 11, 1975 he was united in marriage to Beverly Pagel at St. Willibrord's Catholic Church in Gibbon. He farmed in Severance Township, Sibley County on the family farm. He also had worked part-time at Kraft in New Ulm. Virgil enjoyed league bowling, hunting, fishing, basketball, playing cards, watching sports, dancing in his earlier years, and singing karoke. Virgil was a member of St. Willibrord's Catholic Church in Gibbon.
