NEW ULM - The New Ulm girls soccer team blanked Mankato Loyola 3-0 in a South Central Conference girls soccer game Saturday at the Martin Luther College soccer complex.
Bridget Brown scored New Ulm's first goal off of an assist from Nicole Moldstad at the 22nd minute. Moldstad then put the Eagles up 2-0 right before halftime when she scored in the 38th minute off of an assist from Lydia Schoof.
The Eagles got their final goal of the game when Brown scored an unassisted goal in the 64th minute for the final 3-0 margin. New Ulm didn't allow Loyola a shot on goal in the first half and the Crusaders had only five shots in the game.
New Ulm finished with 17 shots on goal and Shelby Smith had five saves. The Eagles (9-2-1) are at Hutchinson Monday for a 7 p.m. game and then are at St. Peter Tuesday for another 7 p.m. game.
