NEW ULM - Kenneth "Ken" Schroeder, 82, of New Ulm died Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2012 at his home.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, Sept.17, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in New Ulm with Father Mark Steffl celebrating the Mass. Burial will follow in the New Ulm Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation will be 2-5 p.m. Sunday and 7:30-10 a.m. Monday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm. There will be a parish prayer service at 4:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Ken is survived by his son, Karl Schroeder of Woodbury.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Lorraine on Oct. 26, 2011; and by his sister, Janice Vee.
Kenneth Edward Schroeder was born Nov. 12, 1929 in New Ulm to Edward and Helen (Woebke) Schroeder. He was a graduate of New Ulm High School and Mankato State College. Ken was united in marriage to Lorraine Reiner on August 12, 1952 at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in New Ulm. After marriage he was employed as a police officer with the New Ulm Police Department and then with 3M for more than 25 years until his retirement. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking, music and photography. Ken was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and a past member and president of the Mittag Lions Club in New Ulm.
