To the editor:
In response to the woman who called me on the phone Tuesday night, Sept. 11:
I did not catch your name or I would write to you personally. From your contemptuous evaluation of several mainline churches, plus baseball, etc., my eighth-grade psychology makes me wonder if there is any joy or happiness in your life? The leaders of those churches probably spent as many years, perhaps more, studying for their life's work as you have for yours. They still make mistakes, so do you and I. To err is human. It would be sad if difference of opinion on the Marriage Amendment caused any lasting bitterness.
I pray it will not be so.
