SLEEPY EYE - The Sleepy Eye City Council will consider its 2013 property tax levy and city budget on Tuesday, Sept. 11.
The proposed $1,152,110 2013 preliminary levy is 1.9 percent ($21,881) higher than the 2012 levy of $1,130,229 but less than the 2011 levy of $1,180,390.
The proposed 2013 preliminary levy includes $25,000 in 2012 Street & Utility Project General Obligation bonds.
The total proposed 2013 city budget of $3,462,160 compares to $3,375,560 in 2012, $3,508,869 in 2011 and $3,274,106 in 2010.
The city council will also consider bids to remove a home at 415 West Main, (next to Freedom Valu Center), ordering a new police cruiser for 2013 delivery, a resolution for Snow Farm property bond issue funding with George Eilertson of Northland Securities present, a Snow Farm project update and an ambulance training room heating system.
The meeting starts at 7 p.m. in the Council Chambers.
