Steering committee asks public for help in passing District?88 tax levy referendum

August 31, 2012
The Journal

NEW?ULM - A recently formed steering committee is asking District 88 residents to attend a meeting in the board room of the District Administrative Center on Wednesday, Sept. 5, at 7 p.m. Committee members will ask volunteers to share their time and talent to organize support for the tax levy referendum, which will be on the general election ballot on Tuesday, Nov. 6.

The committee believes it's time to stop the recurring cycle of budget cuts and staff reductions because of decreased state funding for public education.

Dozens of concerned citizens are needed to form active committees involving finance, communications, canvassing, and absentee voting.

If you would like to help but are unable to attend Wednesday's meeting, please call Chairperson Devin Nelson at 276-2032.
