NICOLLET - Allison Madsen had a team-best serving performance to lead the Cedar Mountain/Comfrey volleyball team to a 25-13, 25-17, 25-21 victory against Nicollet on Monday.
Madsen was 17-for-19 serving with two aces and also had a team-high nine set assits. Emily Ochs was 8-for-10 serving with three aces and five kills for the Cougars, Erin Christensen was 4-for-6 serving with three aces and five set assits, Karli Kelly had four kills and three blocks and Brianna Lund also registered three blocks.
CMC (1-0) hosts Madelia on Thursday in its home opener. Nicollet hosts Mankato West today.

MOUNTAIN LAKE - Tiffany Schwanke had a stellar all-around match to lead the Springfield volleyball team to a 25-17, 25-15, 25-14 victory against Mountain Lake on Monday.
Schwanke was 14-for-14 serving and had three aces, eight kills and 15 digs.
Also making strong contributions for the Tigers were Heidi Veenstra (11-for-12 serving, two aces), Morgan Hansen (eight kills, eight digs), Shelby Schultz (19 set assits) and Kasey Kretsch (seven digs).
Springfield (1-0) will play at Red Rock Central on Thursday.
